Important Information on Changes to the PEI Provincial Nominee Program
12/12/2012
As of December 31, 2012 the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) will close and phase out the International Graduate Stream and the Family Connection Stream of the Labour Impact category of the PEI PNP program. These program closures are due to a national effort to reduce duplication and overlap between the Federal and Provincial programs.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada's Canadian Experience Class provides a very similar immigration option for International Students. For more information on Citizenship and Immigration Canada's Family Class programs please visit www.cic.gc.ca
Citizenship and Immigration Canada's Family Reunification Class provides an option for direct family members of Canadian Citizens or Permanent residents of Canada that are 18 years or older. For more information on Citizenship and Immigration Canada's Family Class programs please visit www.cic.gc.ca
For relatives of Island Residents who are seeking to immigrate to Prince Edward Island and have a bonafide job offer from an Island employer, the skilled and critical worker categories of the Provincial Nominee program may be suitable. Please review the program criteria located here on our website.
Applications that are complete and submitted to the PEI PNP Office as of close of business December 14, 2012 will be accepted and reviewed by the PEI PNP Program. No new applications will be accepted after this date as the two streams will be phased out as of December 31, 2012.
Applicants that have submitted an application under these streams prior to the December 14, 2012 close of business deadline, can be assured that their application will be reviewed and assessed based on the current criteria for those streams.
