Canadian provinces sign MOUs to seek Filipino workers

In the past year, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and recently Alberta has signed Memorandum of Understanding to assist with Filipino skilled workers fill jobs in Western Canada. Canadian western provinces will offer education programs in the Philippines.
Canada has been suffering from labor shortages in many sectors and Filipinos can make a significant contribution to address the shortage. Last year, 6000 temporary foreign workers from Philippines found jobs in Alberta.
Canada is expected to welcome 1.8 million foreign workers in the next 10 years to fill positions in the gas, tourism and health sectors. |
